Candidone Inhibits Migration and Invasion, and Induces Apoptosis in HepG2 Cells

The aim of the study was to investigate inhibitory activity candidone, active constituent Derris (D.) indica, on proliferation, migration, and invasiveness human hepatoblastoma (HepG2) cells. Cancer cell death assessed using a 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay, apoptosis-associated morphological changes were observed by phase contrast microscopy. Additionally, Western blotting used protein expression following treatment with transwell migration invasion assays for observing cancer invasiveness, respectively. results suggest that candidone possesses potent against HepG2 cells (concentration, 100 µM; 24 h treatment). treated exhibited changes, including detachment, shrinkage death.
